How to applyRESEARCH AT HKUST(GZ)
Full-time research postgraduate applicants are automatically considered for the university's Postgraduate Studentship (PGS). Awards are stated in the admission offer and reviewed annually. Tuition is payable separately; funding is subject to the university's eligibility and award conditions.
Based at HKUST(GZ), our research connects Intelligent Transportation and the Internet of Things with machine learning, perception and autonomous systems.
Our agenda spans multimodal understanding, intent and trajectory prediction, world modeling, and agent decision-making. There is room for both foundational questions and systems that put ideas into practice.
FIND YOUR PATH
For applicants who want to pursue an independent research question in depth. Introduce your background, research interests and intended intake by email, and review the university's PhD application requirements.
An outstanding bachelor's degree can meet the general academic entry route; a master's degree is not always required. Programme-specific requirements still apply.
For applicants interested in research postgraduate study and developing a focused research project. You are welcome to discuss your interests with Xinhu while preparing your university application.
HKUST(GZ) currently admits MPhil students centrally through Master of Philosophy (General). Students declare a Thrust after admission, by the end of the Fall term.
